Mitchell Minor Sports Inc was created with the motto: Sports for All - Get Involved. The founding members created MMS in the late 1970`s to have a governed body to ensure all who wanted to play sports were able and the system would have fair play for all. Hockey, Ringette, Fastball, Baseball and Soccer are under the Mitchell Minor Sports umbrella and have their own elected Executives with their set of rules and/or constitution, along with their governing bodies. Our goal is to ensure all sports operate with fair play, maintain their constitution (guidelines), operate within budget & to provide support and guidance if needed. As well, Mitchell Minor Sports Committee approves and maintains the following:
The committee meets 9 times a year (excludes July, Aug and Dec), the fourth Wednesday of the month and meetings are open to public.

Stephen Elliott had a passion for sports, participating in the Mitchell Minor Sports system through to the Mitchell Hawks, contributing dedication and hard work to the game. With fair play and leadership, he was a well-respected coach for both hockey and fastball teams for many years. After a valiant battle, Stephen passed away on April 3rd, 2013 from brain cancer, at the young age of 52.
His legacy lives on. Every year an Awards Banquet is held in his honour where a number of young people are recognized for their involvement in Mitchell Minor Sports and nominated Athletes of the Year.
